We offer a full range of products and solutions based on our dedicated monolithic refractory range. The different types of units in the Waste to Energy industry are:
- Thick and/or thin wall grate or roller incinerators
- Static or circulating fluid bed incinerators
- Oscillating and/or rotary kiln incinerators
These units often suffer from stresses such as severe corrosion and abrasion,reladted to temperature, presence of particulate matter in the gas stream, and the chemical composition of the waste. Calderys has developed a dedicated range meeting the demands of these wear conditions. Our low cement castables have a high mechanical strength and present high abrasion resistance. Specific additives in low cement castables, such as SiC (a mix of Sic and Zircon Silicate) bring alkali resistance to the castables. We have developed a new product designed to protect tube walls and collectors, CALDE™ PATCH PT 90 HR, which is a cold setting hydraulic-phosphate castable with a very high abrasion resistance.
We have recently developed a family of low cement castables, but without additives, with an alkali resistant matrix that can be used where SIC oxydises (high temperatures, liquid slag,etc…). They have been installed and have shown excellent results.
The refractory lining must withstand stress and also insure heat transfer to the tube-walls. Due to regulations, the conversion of NOx gasses into N2 is of primary importance. SiC additions in low cement castables allow the modification of heat transfer, which can be adjusted later to the OEM requirements. Our CALDE™ range offers products with additions of SiC from 10% to 90%. When high temperature is needed, for example in the first chamber where NOx must be transformed into N2, low SiC addition and/or products with an alkali resistant matrix preferred.
The waste incineration industry also requires short stoppages and fast installations. Calderys was the first to bring to the market two dedicated product ranges adapted to the new gunning technologies CALDE™ SPRAYCAST for shotcreeting and CALDE™ GUN L for low porosity dense gunning of low cement products with high abrasion and alkali resistance. Service life of these gunning mixes is similar to cast-vibrated corresponding products. Calderys has also recently developed a specific range of Quick Dry monolithic LCC refractory products which reduces the dry-out time by 50%.
Well aware of refractory and Waste incineration process knowledge, our experimented supervisors and installers provide expert technical guidance and the best suited installation equipment to ensure the refractory performance during service.
Calderys employs dedicated skilled staff and the latest advances in refractory installation equipment. This can be applied to small, large, and turnkey projects alike depending on the requirement. Alternatively, we can support the customer's own staff by supervision, project management, equipment, and also direct installation training.
Our aim is to ensure the best installation and dry-out of the refractory so that the customer gets maximum performance.
Once in service, the refractory may require specific maintenance which again can be supplied depending on the customer needs. In some cases, and depending on the situation, services may be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, ensuring minimum downtime for the customer—especially for unplanned stoppage.
