Calderys paper at DGFS Meeting in Düsseldorf, Jun 12, 2015

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Feuerfest- und Schornsteinbau (DGFS) will be holding their 5th Symposium on Refractory and Chimney Engineering in Düsseldorf, Germany, on June 16, with Calderys‘ Patrick Malkmus, Research & Developement Manager, presenting a technical paper on

Low Porosity Gunning Mixes – Compared to Spraycast and Gunning Mixes in General

An optimal service life in various industrial sectors can only be accomplished if all the lined areas have comparable chemical-physical properties. In the past there was a gap between the physical propereties of liquefied vibration castables and traditional gunning mixes due to varying addition of water.

With the help of installation methods it became possible to line areas without molds or even complete areas without a reduction of the service life. Spraycast (shotcreting) products or rather Low Porosity Gunning Products (LPGM) are compared with one another regarding their application.

Furthermore, the differences to traditional gunning mixes in regard to properties and installation methods are discussed.

Mr Patrick Malkmus will held the session from 12:00 – 12:20, in New Material Developments and their Application Sectors Room.
