Optimizing the performance of steel ladle lips, Aug 03, 2012

 

The destruction of the ladle lip zone during the production process or during the cleaning of the top ladle ring with an excavator machine induces the risk to disassemble the slag line made of MgO-C bricks and create safety incidents.

It is important to find a solution for optimizing the performance with a material allowing a good compromise between thermal shock, corrosion and mechanical resistance, and allowing for a heating up of the ladle that does not need to be slowed down during preheating.
